Afrex Associates is a group of people from diverse backgrounds with different work experiences from around the world. They are highly committed to the success of the enterprise as a better trading model for all Africa, with a particular regard to local communities.

Principals

Managing Director
Daye De Kaba is a postgraduate with a Master in Finance from Cass Business School in the heart of London’s financial centre. Previously he worked for Santus Consulting in Brussels where he analysed and advised on risk and alternative investments for private companies in less developed countries.

Operations and General Manager
Bolongo Likulia also graduated from the Cass Business School having previously worked for Planscibo in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is responsible for the preparation and shipping of goods and for quality testing. He is fully conversant with the field realities and is backed up by a diverse and highly experienced staff of 55 in various departments.

Plantations

We have 10,000 hectares of Afrex/Planscibo Plantation which grows coffee, palm oil, manioc, corn, cocoa and havea rubber.

Plus we work with five co-operatives in the north, extending to some 25,000 hectares, as well as eight co-operatives in the centre of RD Congo, extending to some 40,000 hectares.

 

Research

Afrex Associates is also investigating a variety of approaches to enhance the nutritional content of corn, sweet potato, cassava and some other agricultural commodities. These include conventional breeding and other new techniques.
