| Maize, or corn, is an important
crop in Africa where vitamin A deficiency is prevalent.
In Africa, maize is often ground into meal (mealie-meal)
which is then made into Fufu-like staples such as Fufu, Banku,
Nshima, Ugali, and Sadza. These are eaten with sauces, soups,
and stews.
We sell the traditional maize varieties to the local markets
and neighbouring countries, and are also working on new project
– producing a nutritionally improved variety of corn
with increased levels of provitamin A.
